The campus today is adorned with an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and excitement as the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (Electics) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has successfully orchestrated a vibrant sports tournament and art extravaganza. This event not only provides an opportunity to foster athletic skills but also showcases the creativity and artistic flair of Electics students. Termed as the Electronics Tournament (ELITE) and the Folk Arts Festival (PESRAF), this series of activities is a celebration of skill and creativity.
ELITE saw participation from student representatives across six departments within Electics ITS. This year’s competitions organized by ELITE encompassed various physical sports alongside electric sports (e-sports) competitions. Featuring eight competitions including basketball, futsal, badminton, table tennis, billiards, as well as mobile legend and valorant competitions, the ELITE activities spanned approximately one month, commencing on November 1, 2023, and culminating on November 24, 2023.
The Informatics Engineering Student Association (HMTC) emerged as the overall champion, securing victories in valorant, basketball, and billiards. Following closely was the Information Systems Student Association (HMS) securing the second spot by triumphing in mobile legend e-sports and badminton. Finally, the Electrical Engineering Student Association (HIMATEKTRO) clinched the third position with remarkable wins in futsal and table tennis.
The crowning moment of the ELITE championship was marked by liveliness and depth as it featured band performances and dramatic showcases by Electics student representatives. This grand culmination occurred on November 25, 2023, at the ITS Tower 2 lobby. This artistic showcase was an integral part of the People’s Arts Festival (PESRI), an event dedicated to nurturing the artistic development and creativity of Electics students. Additionally, the pinnacle location for the ELITE championship was adorned with booths displaying breathtaking artwork crafted by Electics students.
“We hope that through events like this, BEM Electics ITS can consistently engage in the non-academic development of its students, especially in fields like art, sometimes overlooked and overshadowed by engineering,” remarked Khalisa Dzakira, the chief executive of ELITE 2023.
The sports competition and art extravaganza organized by BEM Electics ITS transcend mere entertainment; they epitomize the spirit of togetherness, sportsmanship, and creativity thriving within the Electics student community. This event not only strengthens the bonds among Electics members but also provides a platform for students to exhibit their talents and innovative ideas. With this contagious positive spirit, we anticipate Electics ITS will continue to serve as an inspiring platform for students to explore and harness their potential in sports and arts.
