Surabaya, ELECTICS ITS – Another outstanding achievement has been made by students of the Faculty of Electrical Technology and Intelligent Informatics (ELECTICS) ITS. Team Unstoppable successfully won 1st Place in The Horizon of Research, Innovation, and Solution Tournament (THEORIST) 2025, organized by Universitas Negeri Semarang.

The team consists of three Electrical Engineering students, Muhammad Naufal Adriansyah (2022), Marcello Akrama Putra (2023), and Satryo Ahmad Ananta (2023). They are members of the High Voltage Laboratory at ELECTICS and actively serve as assistants, consistently pushing themselves to grow, including through competitions.

Information about THEORIST 2025 was obtained through the High Voltage Laboratory’s work program. The external division of the lab shared the competition opportunity with all assistants, giving Team Unstoppable the chance to participate.

In this competition, they presented an idea entitled:

“Concept of Smart Underground Waste Management and Collection System with the Implementation of Autonomous Maglev Capsule Transportation in the Nusantara Capital Region.”

This futuristic concept integrates blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things to power an underground maglev capsule system. The system enables waste collection and transportation to disposal and processing centers more effectively and efficiently.

As with most essay competitions, the first challenge was preparing a paper that was concise, clear, and informative within the eight-page limit. Team Unstoppable managed to condense their complex ideas into a compact yet comprehensive paper.

After advancing to the final round, a new challenge awaited: presenting their idea in a maximum of 10 minutes. With a 10-slide PowerPoint presentation that was both visually appealing and informative, the team practiced intensively to ensure their delivery was concise and on time.

“The most memorable part was definitely the Q&A session,” said Naufal. “The judges’ questions were not always what we predicted, so we had to think quickly and provide answers that truly represented the essence of our futuristic idea. It really sharpened our critical thinking.”

When asked about the key strength that made the team unstoppable, Naufal answered briefly, “Staying consistent when we want to win.” That consistency kept their spirit alive from preparation to the announcement of victory.

Although their idea remains futuristic and cannot yet be directly implemented, Team Unstoppable hopes it can be further developed, particularly through academic publication, so that it may serve as a reference for future research.

To fellow ELECTICS students, Naufal shared a motivational message,

“Ideas often come from small problems around us. It would be a waste if they stayed only in our minds. Competitions can be a positive and exciting way to bring those ideas to life.”

The success of Team Unstoppable demonstrates that the creativity and consistency of ELECTICS ITS students can lead to remarkable achievements, inspiring the next generation to keep innovating.
