Surabaya, ELECTICS ITS – The beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year marks an important moment for all new students of the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) at ITS. Through the inaugural joint course titled Introduction to Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (PTEIC), new students from the six departments within ELECTICS were brought together in one learning space to gain an overview of the faculty’s academic scope.
ELECTICS, which encompasses the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Information Technology, has introduced PTEIC as one of its essential foundations since 2023. The aim is simple yet crucial: to equip new students with an initial understanding of the wide range of disciplines within the faculty, while also fostering interdisciplinary collaboration from the very first semester.

The first week of PTEIC lectures was filled with eager learning, curiosity, and active interaction between students and lecturers. This highlights that PTEIC is not just an introductory course, but also a platform to build a strong sense of community within ELECTICS.
With PTEIC, new ELECTICS students of the 2025/2026 academic year are not only guided to better understand their faculty, but also prepared to face more complex academic challenges in the semesters ahead. This marks the first step for ELECTICS in ensuring that the new generation of students grows with interdisciplinary understanding and collaborative spirit.
