Meeting With UniMAP, ELECTICS Will Conduct E-Exchange and Other Collaborative Agenda

Coordination Meeting between Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and the University of Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)

Surabaya, June 18 2020

Following up the collaboration initation that has been established between the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) with the School of Electrical System Engineering University of Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) last May, ELECTICS held a coordination meeting with the Dean of UniMAP Thursday (6/18).

With the vision becoming the world-class institute, ITS through their International Office (IO) has been actively doing various collaborations with universities all around the world. One of the recent related activity is the cooperative relationship between ITS and the UniMAP School of Electrical System Engineering.Conducting an in-depth discussion on the collaboration matter, a coordination meeting was held through the Zoom Online Meeting. The meeting which began at nine attended by the Dean of UniMAP School of Electrical System Engineering, Dr Haziah Abdul Hamid and The Director of UniMAP International Affairs, Dr Tunku Salha.The Meeting begins with the opening speech from the Director of ITS Global Partnership, Prof Maria Anityasari PhD and then continued with the brief introduction and profile of each university. ELECTICS also introduced their departments and programs within their faculty presented directly by the Dean, Dr I Ketut Eddy Purnama ST MT. Then, The conference moved forward to the discussion of several collaborations between the two universities. Some of the main collaborative agenda that being discussed were the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), Guest Lecture Series (GLS) and E-Exchange.From the discussion, ITS and UniMAP agreed to conduct a series of online guest lecturer that will be held using Zoom Meetings with up to 500 participants from both universities. “the GLS will be held with the main topic about Renewable Energy in Developing Countries,” said the Dean and lecturer of ELECTICS, Dr I Ketut Eddy Purnama ST MT.

The Agenda which will be held around October also held some sub-topic. The first sub-topic is about Renewable Energy in Remote Area and will be delivered by Head of the ELECTICS Electrical Engineering Department, Dedet Candra Riawan ST M Eng PhD. Meanwhile, the second sub-topic entitled Renewable Energy in Urban Areas will be presented by Dr Samila Mat Zali from the UniMAP School of Electrical System Engineering.ITS and UniMAP will also open the opportunity to do online student exchange with the e-Exchange program. In the program who will be announced soon, ITS student can register and join Online Courses at UniMAP through the available Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). There will be also available an e-Internship program that allows students from ITS and UniMAP to carry out an online internship at laboratories in the partner Universities.The Dean of the School of Electrical System Engineering UniMAP, Haziah also said that their party would share the following collaborative information so that the opportunity of the collaboration can spread even wider to other Faculties available at UniMAP.Responding to the series of international collaboration, Ketut, the nickname of the ELECTICS Dean said that he really welcomed the opportunity with a warm welcome. “We strongly support any collaboration related to internationalization,” he added.Ketut also hopes that in future, there will be more collaboration with various universities from all over the world to occur. “Maybe, for now, we need to do more collaboration with University from Europe,” he concluded.
