ITS News — The Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (DTMM), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), has officially handed over the CuBioX Nanobiofertilizer product to Dr. Azis Natawijaya, Director of Corporate Development at PT Bumitama Gunajaya Agro (BGA). This event marks an important milestone in strengthening research and innovation synergy between academia and industry.
The CuBioX Nanobiofertilizer is the result of BGA’s Open Innovation Research, a collaborative program aimed at encouraging the development of research-based technologies to address challenges in the agricultural and plantation sectors in a sustainable manner. This innovation is designed to enhance fertilization efficiency and support crop productivity through the application of nanotechnology and biofertilizer approaches.
The handover signifies the readiness of DTMM ITS research outputs to be further implemented at the industrial scale. The presence of PT BGA representatives reflects the industry’s strong confidence in ITS’s research and development capabilities, particularly in the field of functional materials and applied technology.
The research and development of the CuBioX Nanobiofertilizer were coordinated by Azzah Dyah Pramata, S.T., M.T., M.Eng., Ph.D, who served as the Person in Charge (PIC). Through this research, the DTMM ITS team strives to deliver innovative solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also aligned with industrial needs and environmental sustainability goals.
Moving forward, the collaboration between DTMM ITS and PT BGA is expected to continue in the development of other innovative products, further strengthening the role of universities as strategic partners for industry in generating technologies with tangible impacts on society.
