Guest Lecture Teknologi Kebencanaan by Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, ST., M.Sc. IPU

Indonesia is prone to various kinds of disasters as a logical consequence because it is pressed by 3 tectonic plates, clamped by 2 large oceans and is in a tropical climate area and many people live in disaster-prone areas. Strengthening research and innovation in disaster technology is urgently needed to reduce disaster risk.

The Head of Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT) said that it was necessary to improve the technology innovation strategy to realize a resilient and disaster-responsive Indonesia. BPPT has developed disaster technology, among others, in the implementation of the Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (InaTEWS), weather modification technology, and the application of artificial intelligence in efforts to overcome tsunamis and forest and land fires (karhutla).

Therefore, Geophysical Engineering invites will have a guest lecture with the topic ” Teknologi Kebencanaan” inviting the resource speaker:
