Related Regulations to Employment Practice Living Wage and Pay Scale Equity

 

ITS is committed to implementing employment practice living wage measures. ITS has established a number of regulations to ensure this measure to all staff and faculty members. ITS has 9 regulations relating to employment practice living wage and pay scale equity.

Policy about Employment Living Wage

 

Staff wages policies are detailed in the Regulation of ITS Rector No. 7 Year 2020 and Regulation of ITS Rector No. 8 Year 2020. Regulation of ITS Rector No. 7 Year 2020 mentions that wages consist of pay for person, pay for position, pay for performance, and other benefits. Meanwhile the Regulation of ITS Rector No. 8 Year 2020 about Additional Monthly Income for ITS Employees. These regulations stated that salaries adjusted to the city’s minimum living wage.

ITS Worker Union activities through the Koperasi Pegawai Republik Indonesia (KPRI)-ITS

 

ITS considerate of labor rights, including freedom of organization, gatherings, speech, and unity, for all ITS employees. KPRI-ITS is an ITS employees organization that has been in operation since September 17, 1981, and was established by Legal Entity Number 5089/BH/11/81. KPRI-ITS is dedicated to expanding and diversifying the business of ITS products and its members, improving infrastructure facilities to improve member services, and utilizing information technology as a means of communication and information towards governance and modern cooperative business.

KPRI-ITS’s membership is based on equality and unity, therefore it is open to all ITS employees, and it respects the principles of economic democracy and cooperatives. KPRI-ITS is open to the more diverse ITS academic community. The presence of women staff inside KPRI-ITS implies that there is no gender gap. International staff can also join KPRI-ITS because in membership registration can submit proof of employment without international documents. KPRI-ITS implements various services, such as savings and loans for ITS employees, as well as outstanding programs, such as the established K-1 Mart, e-store services, and business with partners, to promote welfare and satisfy the demands of ITS workers.

Majelis Wali Amanat (MWA)-ITS Membership

 

MWA-ITS is an ITS institution responsible for the tasks of establishing, providing input on the execution of overarching policies, and conducting oversight in areas outside of academics. Membership in MWA-ITS is accessible to all members of the academic community, such as lecturers, staff, and students. The criteria for MWA-ITS members, do not specify any particular gender, reflecting a commitment to gender equality in MWA-ITS membership.

Regulation of ITS Rector No. 25 Year 2021 about Second Amendment to the Regulation of ITS Rector No. 2 Year 2017 about Employment at ITS

 

ITS issued the Regulation of ITS Rector No. 25 Year 2021 ITS about human resources. ITS pays attention to staff welfare by establishing the minimum take-home pay, minimum annual leave, sick leave, and maternal leave for all academic communities. Article 8 point 1 mentions that employee recruitment shall occur with the principles of non-discrimination, openness, not discriminating based on ethnicity, religion, race, or class, paying attention to gender equality and justice, and carried out in line with the needs of the organization.

ITS with its “Advancing Humanity” motto is committed to contributing to the achievement of SDGs by becoming a sustainable and environmentally friendly campus. The commitment is shown by the Rector’s Statement Letter in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Chapter 1 of the Rector’s Statement Letter provides a policy for discrimination prevention.

The Rector’s Statement Letter demonstrates the commitment to reaching the Sustainable Development Goals. Chapter 1 of the Rector’s Statement Letter states that ITS committed against forced labor, modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labor.

Regulation of ITS Rector No. 25 Year 2021 about Second Amendment to the Regulation of ITS Rector No. 2 Year 2017 about Employment at ITS discusses ITS’s commitment in realizing the motto “Advancing Humanity”. Article 8 Point 2 clearly states that recruiting is done without the use of forced labor, slavery, child labor, or human trafficking.

Payment Regulation for ITS’ Outsourcing Workers

 

ITS has a policy that assures equality for outsourced workers. This policy is stated in the Regulation of ITS Rector No. 1 Year 2022 about Procurement of Goods and Non-State Revenue Funds Non-Taxes. Outsourcing workers are included in additional service categories. Articles 22 and 23 highlight agreements that establish a commitment between ITS and third parties to protect the wellbeing of outsourced workers.

Outsourced employees, who frequently work for a firm but are not directly employed by ITS, should have the same fundamental rights, protections, and benefits as ITS employees. In Chapter 1 point d, the regulation ensures openness and equity in the use of third-party services.

Related Regulations to Employment Pay Scale Equity

 

ITS has a policy on pay scale equity including a commitment to the measurement and elimination of gender pay gaps with objective calculations. ITS has two regulations that manage pay scales, which include wages and incentives. The regulations are Regulation of ITS Rector No. 7 Year 2020 and Regulation of ITS Rector No. 18 Year 2021.

The Regulation of ITS Rector No. 7 Year 2020 about Amendments to Regulation of ITS Rector No. 2 Year 2017 about Employment at ITS. According to Article 24, ITS provides payment in the form of wages and incentives. Specifically, the rules regarding the evaluation process and incentives for payments can be found within Regulation of ITS Rector No. 18 Year 2021.

Policy pay scale equality is a critical component of management of wages that attempts to minimize income disparities and improve organization fairness. ITS guarantees pay scale equity as a form of effort to achieve SDGs. Regulation of ITS Rector No. 25 Year 2021 about Second Amendment to Regulation of ITS Rector No. 2 Year 2017 about Employment at ITS ensures that human resource management is carried out in accordance with gender equality. Employee recruitment is carried out with the principles of non-discrimination, openness, not discriminating ethnicity, religion, race, or class, paying attention to the principles of gender equality and justice, and carried out in accordance with the needs of employees, as stated on Page 5, Article 8, Point 1.

Pay Scale Measurement for Gender Equity

 

ITS strives to minimize the occurrence of gender gaps in salary payments. ITS has procedures that are prepared objectively in providing salaries and incentives. The pay scale procedure is legally regulated by Regulation of ITS Rector No. 7 Year 2020 and Regulation of ITS Rector No. 18 Year 2021. Both regulations do not distinguish gender in salary payments.

Employment Practice Appeal Process for ITS Workers

 

ITS with its “Advancing Humanity” motto prioritizes transparency in organizing the process of Regional Employment Agency assessment. Furthermore, ITS provides a window for two-way communication by presenting a rebuttal time for staff who are having objections within the process of performance assessment through ITS Service Desk system.

ITS Task Force for Preventing and Handling Sexual Violence (PPKS)

 

Employees have the right to feel safe from any threats, one of that includes sexual violence. ITS officially inaugurated 21 members of PPKS-ITS which is a form of ITS’s commitment to creating a campus that is safe from sexual violence. PPKS-ITS must be prepared to receive reports from the whole ITS academic community, including students, lecturers, staff, and the community around ITS. PPKS-ITS has provided guiding through modules that provide basic information regarding sexual violence.
