The Department of Information Systems at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to strengthen its international academic network through an International Mobility Program in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. The program provides an opportunity for students from both institutions to collaborate in community service activities while gaining valuable academic, social, and cross-cultural experiences.
The program will take place from August 18 to 29, 2026, involving 18 students from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) who will collaborate with ITS students in a Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) in Pacet Village, Mojokerto, East Java.
Throughout the program, UTP and ITS students will work together on various community engagement activities. This international collaboration is expected to provide students with opportunities to share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives while working together to identify and address challenges faced by the local community.
The UTP delegation will be accompanied by Dr. Noreen Izza Arshad and Dr. Nizam. Their participation as academic supervisors will provide guidance and support to the students throughout the program, ensuring that the activities are carried out effectively and in accordance with the objectives of the International Mobility Program.
Beyond academic and community service activities, the program also offers students an opportunity to gain valuable cross-cultural experiences. Through direct interaction and collaboration with students from Malaysia and Indonesia, participants are expected to enhance their communication, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability skills in a multicultural environment.
For the Department of Information Systems ITS, this International Mobility Program represents an important initiative to expand students’ international exposure and strengthen academic partnerships with leading institutions abroad. For both UTP and ITS students, the program provides a meaningful opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world community setting while contributing to local development.
Through this program, the Department of Information Systems ITS hopes that the collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS will continue to grow and lead to further joint initiatives in education, research, and community engagement in the future.
