Surabaya – The ITS Library hosted a study visit from 25 students participating in the School Literacy Movement (GLS) extracurricular program at SMAN 4 Madiun on Thursday (July 2, 2026). The purpose of the visit was to broaden the students’ knowledge and gain experience regarding library management and the implementation of literacy programs.
The event began with a welcome and opening ceremony in the Library Room on the second floor, led by the Head of the ITS Library, Agus Santoso, S.Sos., M.Med.Kom, who is often called Agsan. During the event, Agsan also presented information about the ITS Library’s facilities and services and engaged the participants in a discussion about literacy.
Next, the students took a library tour, visiting the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors, and ending at the Migas Corner on the 1st floor. During the visit, the participants seemed enthusiastic about exploring the library’s various facilities. One of the areas that drew the most attention was the “Aussie Banget Corner” on the 3rd floor. At the Migas Corner, the students were also eager to capture the moment using various props, such as safety helmets.
The participants also shared their positive impressions. One student said, “Earlier, I got to see the library, check out the different rooms, visit the Oil and Gas Museum, and then watch a horror movie. It was so much fun!” Another student also said that the visit was very enjoyable and a great learning experience.
Through this study tour, it is hoped that participants will gain inspiration to foster a culture of literacy in their schools and utilize the library as a space for learning, collaboration, and innovation.
