Alumni Homecoming Business Management Department of ITS 2025: Unite the Legacy, Ignite the Future

Surabaya, August 2, 2025 — The Department of Business Management, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), once again warmly welcomed alumni to the 2025 Alumni Homecoming event, held on Saturday, August 2, 2025. With the theme “Unite the Legacy, Ignite the Future,” this event provided a space for camaraderie, reflection, and collaboration between alumni and the institution in building adaptive and impactful Business Management education.

The event was attended by 60 alumni from the first cohort (MB 1 – 2011) to the eleventh cohort (MB 11 – 2021). The alumni came from diverse career backgrounds, including professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, and industry practitioners across Indonesia. Their presence symbolized the strong bond between graduates and their alma mater.

The series of activities began with remarks from Aaliyah (CEO of BMSA), representing active students. She expressed her pride and hope that alumni would continue to inspire and connect the academic and professional worlds. Fuad Adisaputra, Chair of the Business Management Alumni Association (IKA MB ITS), then delivered remarks, emphasizing the importance of alumni solidarity in supporting the department’s progress.

The event continued with remarks from Berto Mulia Wibawa, S.Pi., M.M., Ph.D., Head of the ITS Business Management Department, who expressed his appreciation for the alumni’s presence and their significant contributions. In his remarks, he emphasized that alumni are a strategic asset in developing educational quality, fostering industry partnerships, and establishing global networks. This aligns with ITS’s mission to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

As a representative of the faculty leadership, Muhammad Saiful Hakim, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Digital Business (FKBD) ITS, also extended a warm welcome and opened up opportunities for strategic collaboration between the faculty, alumni, and industry.

Following the welcoming session, the event continued with a presentation on the development of the ITS Business Management Department, including academic achievements, curriculum development initiatives, and future strategic plans. During the curriculum review session, alumni provided input on the relevance of learning to the needs of the workforce, soft skills required by industry, and the potential for integrating technology and entrepreneurship into the learning process.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of the “Alumni GL Series” (Guest Lecture Series), a platform for alumni to share professional experiences with current students through guest lectures, mentoring, and thematic discussions. This initiative is expected to strengthen connections between the campus and industry, while also opening up opportunities for cross-generational dialogue.

The event concluded with a “Chat with Alumni” session, held in an informal yet meaningful atmosphere. Participants shared experiences, nostalgic stories from their college days, and opportunities for future collaboration. The documentation session and shared lunch also strengthened the emotional bonds formed during this event.

Through this activity, the ITS Business Management Department hopes that Alumni Homecoming will become a regular event that strengthens relationships, enhances the role of alumni in institutional development, and creates an inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable higher education ecosystem.
