ITS Officially Becomes an AACSB Member: Strengthening Its Commitment to Global Business Education

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has officially become a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), one of the world’s most prestigious organizations dedicated to advancing excellence in business education. This milestone represents a significant step in ITS’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of education, research, and community engagement in accordance with internationally recognized standards.

Founded in 1916 and headquartered in the United States, AACSB is a global non-profit organization that has spent more than a century advancing quality in business education through accreditation, institutional development, research, and international collaboration. Today, AACSB connects thousands of member institutions across more than 100 countries and territories, including business schools, universities, corporations, and organizations committed to shaping the future of business education worldwide.

In addition to being recognized as the world’s leading accrediting body for business schools, AACSB serves as a strategic platform for higher education institutions to exchange best practices, strengthen institutional governance, develop industry-relevant curricula, and foster international collaboration in research and innovation. Its standards emphasize excellence in teaching and learning, impactful research, engagement with industry, internationalization, and meaningful contributions to society.

As an AACSB member, ITS will gain access to a wide range of strategic resources, including institutional capacity-building initiatives, benchmarking opportunities with leading business schools, academic leadership forums, global collaboration networks, and professional development programs for faculty members and academic staff. Membership also marks the beginning of ITS’s long-term journey toward advancing business education that is centered on impact, innovation, and engagement—the core values promoted by AACSB.

For the Department of Business Management, this achievement further reinforces its commitment to delivering education that meets the evolving needs of the global business environment. Through international academic partnerships, collaborations with leading universities worldwide, and the continuous development of a competency-based curriculum, the department continues to strengthen its foundation for achieving its vision of becoming a globally recognized institution.

Established in 2011, the Department of Business Management currently offers three academic programs: the Undergraduate Program in Business Management, the Undergraduate Program in Digital Business, and the Master of Science in Management Program. Since its establishment, the department has consistently demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence through strengthened institutional governance, internationalization, research development, and close collaboration with industry partners and global institutions. Becoming an AACSB member marks a strategic milestone that will accelerate these transformation efforts while reinforcing the department’s position as an internationally competitive business school.

The Head of the Department of Business Management, Berto Mulia Wibawa, Ph.D., emphasized that joining AACSB is not the destination, but rather the beginning of a long-term commitment to fostering an academic culture of excellence and meaningful impact.

“This achievement reflects ITS’s commitment to continuously improving the quality of business education in accordance with international standards. More importantly, however, this membership serves as a catalyst for us to further strengthen our institution, expand global collaborations, produce research that addresses the needs of society and industry, and nurture graduates who are adaptable, ethical, and globally competitive. Institutional excellence is not measured solely by the recognition it receives, but by the positive impact it creates for society and the nation.”

Looking ahead, ITS remains committed to expanding its global partnerships, enhancing excellence across its core missions of education, research, and community engagement, and fostering a business education ecosystem that is responsive to technological advancement, sustainability, and global transformation.

Through its AACSB membership, ITS reaffirms its dedication to continuous improvement and its aspiration to become a globally respected institution that contributes meaningfully to the advancement of business education and the development of future business leaders.

ITS Goes Global. Together Towards Excellence.
