The Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), proudly hosted a guest lecture delivered by Prof. Wojciech Nowak, DSc, PhD, Eng. Associate Prof., an eminent expert in the field of High Temperature Corrosion. This event aimed to broaden the knowledge and understanding of students and faculty members regarding corrosion phenomena that occur under high-temperature environments—one of the major challenges in the development of advanced materials for modern industrial applications.
During the lecture, Prof. Nowak presented key concepts and recent advancements related to high temperature corrosion, including oxidation mechanisms, diffusion processes, and various strategies for protecting materials exposed to extreme conditions. He also shared insights from his latest research and discussed real-world applications of corrosion-resistant materials in sectors such as energy production, power plants, and chemical industries.
This guest lecture provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of corrosion control strategies and the development of advanced materials designed for enhanced performance in high-temperature operations. Moreover, the event served as an important platform to strengthen international academic collaboration and foster future research partnerships between ITS and global research institutions.
