Surabaya, December 4, 2025 — The Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (DTMM), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), continues its commitment to enhancing student competencies by organizing a workshop titled “NDT UT Measurement Inspection Training” on Thursday (4/12). The event took place in Room 204 DTMM and began at 1:00 PM (WIB).
The workshop featured Nizhar Hanif Falahi, a professional practitioner and certified NDT UT Level II instructor. Through this session, participants gained in-depth insights into Ultrasonic Testing (UT), one of the most widely used Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods in the manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, and marine industries.
During the workshop, Nizhar Hanif Falahi explained the fundamental principles of ultrasonic waves, defect measurement techniques, and interpretation of inspection results. In addition to theoretical understanding, participants were introduced to real-world industrial case studies and the importance of UT competency in ensuring component quality and operational safety.
This activity represents DTMM ITS’ efforts to continuously support students in mastering non-destructive testing techniques, addressing the industry’s growing need for professionally qualified inspectors.
Through this workshop, participants are expected to broaden their technical knowledge and understand the proper and safe application of NDT UT across various materials and structures.
