Judicium and Graduation

To graduate from the Doctoral Program, students must fulfil the following quality standards:

Requirement 1
Passing the compulsory courses, the qualifying examination, the closed defense, and the open defense.
Requirement 2
Having attended the dissertation progress seminar organised by the study program at least once every semester after passing the qualifying examination. Failure to attend even one dissertation progress seminar is considered a withdrawal from the program.
Requirement 3
Having completed the entire study load of at least 42 credits including the dissertation, taken within a maximum of 14 semesters, for graduates of a cognate master’s program.
Requirement 4
Having completed the entire study load of at least 70 credits including the dissertation, within a maximum of 14 semesters, for undergraduate graduates.
Requirement 5
Passing the entire required study load in accordance with each respective study program with a minimum grade of B.
Requirement 6
A minimum grade of B for the dissertation examination.
Requirement 7
Having published research results related to the dissertation, comprising at least one paper published in a reputable international journal, or one paper accepted in a reputable international journal together with one paper presented orally at a reputable international seminar. A reputable international journal is an international journal indexed by Scopus with a Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4 qualification, or an international journal indexed by Thomson Reuters with an impact factor greater than 0.01.
Requirement 8
Having fulfilled the English proficiency requirement with a TEFL score ≥ 500. A TEFL score (from the test at UPT Bahasa ITS) obtained at the time of admission to the same level of study may be recognised as a graduation requirement.

Students of master’s and doctoral programs conducted in collaboration with partner universities are declared to have graduated from the joint degree program upon fulfilling the following requirements:

Requirement 1
Having taken and passed at least 50% of the total credit load required by ITS, excluding the thesis/dissertation.
Requirement 2
Having taken and passed all courses required at the partner university through an equivalence process with the ITS curriculum system.
Requirement 3
Having fulfilled the scientific publication requirement and the foreign language score requirement.
