The Doctoral Program (S3) in Engineering Physics, ITS is the highest level of education offered by the Department of Engineering Physics, Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FT-IRS), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology.

This program is designed to produce doctors capable of advancing the discipline of Engineering Physics through original and independent research, addressing scientific and technological challenges in national development, while anticipating global trends through outstanding innovation.

The program is completed within 6 to 8 semesters with a study load of 42 credits, including the dissertation. It is open to master’s graduates from both cognate and non-cognate fields; for applicants from different disciplines, matriculation courses of up to 12 credits are provided, as determined by the dissertation committee.

Graduation Requirements

Passing the qualifying examination, the closed defense, and the open defense
Publication of research results in reputable international journals
Meeting the English proficiency requirement with a TEFL score ≥ 500

Graduates are expected to possess mastery of current science and technology, sharp analytical skills, and strong academic ethics, enabling them to contribute actively to strengthening national competitiveness.
