Enterprise Systems at a Glance

The Enterprise Systems Laboratory (ES Lab) was established in the odd semester of 2015/2016 to welcome trends related to systems and business process-based approaches and the use of software to integrate various functions within the organization to increase its competitive advantage.

Education and Teaching

Lecturers at the ES Laboratory teach several compulsory subjects, including:

  1. Organizational and Functional Business
  2. Business Process Management
  3. Database System
  4. Database Management
  5. Enterprise System
  6. Software Implementation
  7. Digital Creative
  8. IT Management & Process
  9. User Experience Design

We are also in charge of several elective courses for final semester undergraduate students, as follows:

  1. Supply Chain Management
  2. Customer Relationship Management
  3. Model-Based Decision System
  4. Digital Business

For master level, ES Lab teaches compulsory Information Systems Strategic Management courses and offers several elective courses, including:

  1. Topics in Modeling and Simulation
  2. Topics in System Dynamics and Its Applications in Various Fields
  3. Topics in Enterprise Systems

In the learning process, lecturers in the ES Laboratory mostly use the latest software, including:

  1. Ventana Simulation (VenSim)
  2. SAP and Odoo for ERP course. Since 2011, we have been part of the SAP University Alliance.
  3. Signavio for BPM course. Since 2019, the ES Lab has been part of the Signavio BPM Academic Initiative
  4. Apromore for BPM course. Since 2020 we have also become members of Apromore Academic Alliance.

Research

Research activities in ES Lab are grouped into three main areas depicted in this figure.

Research Topic

The scientific fields covered include:

  • Enterprise System: Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Business Process Management: Process Mining, Workflow
  • Business Process Analysis and Modeling: Systems Analysis and Modeling, Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Geographic Information Systems
  • User Interface/User Experience: Data Warehousing, OLAP, Database
