PParticipants in the CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026 Stream 2: Engineering Innovations posed for a group photo with ITS librarians after taking part in a series of library tours at the ITS Library on Thursday (Aug. 27).

Surabaya – A total of 34 participants from various countries attending CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026 Stream 2: Engineering Innovations visited the Library of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) on Thursday (Aug. 27). This visit was part of a series of CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026 activities designed to introduce international participants to the academic environment, facilities, and learning support services at ITS.

The participants were welcomed by ITS librarians in the ITS Library lobby before taking part in a series of library tours. The tour began with a visit to the Oil and Gas Corner, after which the participants were introduced to the Creative Co-Working Space (CCWS) located on the first floor. Participants were able to see firsthand one of the spaces designed to support collaboration, discussion, and creative activities within the library.

Next, the group headed to the 5th floor to explore the circulation area. One of the moments that caught the participants’ attention occurred when they visited the Inspire Space. In that room, an ITS librarian invited the participants to learn about and try a traditional Indonesian game called Dakon.

The game succeeded in creating an even more relaxed and interactive atmosphere. More than just a form of entertainment, this activity also provided an opportunity for international participants to learn about one of the traditional games that are part of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

After enjoying the atmosphere on the 5th floor, the participants continued their tour to the 3rd floor. The 4th floor was not visited because it is currently undergoing renovations. On the third floor, participants were taken on a tour starting from the Dr. Angka Corner, through the magazine room, to the reference room. ITS librarians also introduced the ABC Corner, one of the new spots at the ITS Library that is now also used as a venue for weekly podcasts.

The library tour series then concluded with a break. Participants enjoyed Pahing coffee from a café located on the CCWS grounds while relaxing and chatting. This moment further strengthened the bond between the participants and the ITS librarians.

Interestingly, during the event, several participants also exchanged unique items as souvenirs from their respective countries. This added a warm touch to the visit and served as a symbol of the cultural exchange between nations fostered through the CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026 event.

Through this visit, the ITS Library serves not only as a space for accessing information and supporting academic activities, but also as a space for interaction, collaboration, and cultural exchange. The participation of CommTECH Camp Highlight 2026 Stream 2 attendees is expected to broaden their understanding of the library’s facilities while providing them with a memorable experience during their time at ITS.
