Department of Mathematics ITS Successfully Hosts the 2026 Mathematics Research Competition (KRM) for High School Students

The Department of Mathematics at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), through the Mathematics Student Association (HIMATIKA), has successfully organized the 2026 Mathematics Research Competition (KRM 2026). Designed for high school students and equivalent levels, this research competition serves as a platform for the younger generation to express creative and innovative ideas in problem-solving through the realm of mathematical research.

The annual event was met with enthusiastic participation from high school students across regions. A total of 112 students participated in teams, presenting their best scientific papers. In total, 56 research papers were submitted across three main fields: Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Computational Mathematics.

Through KRM 2026, HIMATIKA ITS aims to continue fostering critical thinking skills and a strong research culture among high school students, preparing promising young researchers to compete on a broader stage in the future.
