Showcasing Innovation and Modern Mathematics, Department of Mathematics ITS Successfully Hosts Open House 2026

SURABAYA – The Department of Mathematics at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) successfully hosted its annual Open House event on Sunday (13/09/2026). Open to the general public, the event drew enthusiastic participation from high school students, teachers, and parents eager to explore the academic environment and opportunities offered by the department.

Designed to reshape public perceptions of mathematics—shifting the view from abstract formulas to practical, real-world applications—the event featured three core interactive segments:

1. Innovation & Product Exhibition: Showcasing flagship innovations and applied projects created by faculty members and students, including data modeling, industrial simulation, and technology-driven mathematical solutions.

2. Educational Seminar: Featuring engaging discussions on the evolution of modern mathematics and its wide-ranging applications across future-proof industries.

3. Interactive Workshop: A hands-on session where participants directly experienced fun, practical problem-solving activities using logic and mathematical tools.

Through this Open House, the Department of Mathematics ITS aims to provide prospective students and the community with valuable insights into its academic curriculum, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, and expansive career pathways
