Pohang University of Science & Technology (POSTECH) South Korea would like to inform you that the registration for Global Young Leaders Scholarship application for academic year 2024-2025 is open. The tuition fee for this program is waived.
Global Young Leaders Program is a student exchange program fully funded by POSCO & POSTECH. POSCO Group’s overseas subsidiaries used to fund the POSCO Global Young Leaders Program to train and cultivate next-generation global talent and now, POSTECH also would like to join this program and give more opportunities to be Global Young Leaders in POSTECH and furthermore, in Korea. All expenses throughout the stay in Korea will be covered by POSCO & POSTECH for selected students. As a Global Young Leaders Student, you will be able to take courses and participate in research as well as experience Korean culture and industry.
1 Academic Year (10 months)
* Global Young Leaders Program is a year-long program which starts at Fall Semester and ends at Spring. Please note that applying for only 1 semester is not allowed.
Global Young Leaders Program is based on Student Exchange Program at POSTECH. Students can take courses and join the events for exchange students. However, Research Participation & Specialized Cultural Programs are additional advantage including the scholarship.
Global Young Leaders Students should take online Korean Language Course before their Fall Semester at POSTECH through King Sejong Institute. (Free) It is mandatory to complete at least 1 course during Summer and submit the Certificate of Completion before their Fall Semester starts.
The POSTECH International Exchange Program will give you the opportunity to study and immerse yourself in the Korean culture and actively participate in research activities under supervision of an advising professor. The POSTECH International Exchange Program is offered for undergraduate/graduate students from partner universities of POSTECH around the world.

Course Registration Exchange students will register for courses on POVIS during the designated period for exchange students, if spaces permit. To register for classes with prerequisites, please directly consult with the professor/instructor and submit the “Change of Course Registration Form” to the host department office during the add/drop period (first week of semester).

Students are required to purchase a separate insurance plan that covers most illnesses and injuries and is valid for at least 1 month from the student’s arrival in Korea. Additionally, as of March 2021, all international students in Korea will be automatically registered to the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), effective from the date of their alien registration (most likely done within 10 days into the semester). All will be able to receive equal medical benefits as Korean nationals, receiving automatic discounts for doctors’ appointments and prescription drugs. Exchange students will receive monthly invoices by post, and the cost will be approx. 50,000 KRW/month.
This program is open for D4/S1 ITS Students batch 2021 or 2022. GPA above 3.0 with English Proficiency TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS Academic 6.5, DET 120 or above. The students must take and transfer maximum credit transfer opportunity.

If you have finished and submitted your Study Abroad Application form, YOU HAVE TO SEND email to studyabroad@its.ac.id confirming that you have filled out the Study Abroad Application Form and submit it. Please use this subject: “Confirmation Study Abroad Application_GYLPostech_NAME_NRP”. The submission deadline extended until 24 April 2024 ( 09.00 WIB). The Interview Session will be held on 25 April 2024 (13.30).
