On February 9, 2026, the Department of Informatics Engineering welcomed Professor Stephan Onggo from the University of Southampton, England. This visit was related to the International Science Partnership Fund (ISPF) research project involving Indonesia and the UK, entitled “A Digital Twin-Based System for Inclusive Flood Relief in Indonesia by Leveraging Agent-Based Simulation, GNSS, GIS, and Drone Technologies (DIGI-FLOOD).”
This ISPF research aims to design a monitoring dashboard that integrates drone, GNSS, and GIS technology for flood mitigation in Indonesia. The ISPF research team from ITS includes Professor Muhammad Nur Cahyadi and Professor Ary Mazharuddin Shiddiqi.
In addition to discussing research, Professor Stephan Onggo also reminisced with senior alumni of the Department of Informatics Engineering, such as Mr. Suhadi Lili, Mr. Ferial, Mrs. Nanik Suciati, and Mr. Yudhi Purwananto.
Many old stories were revealed, from the excitement of college, projects, and even stories of life after graduation. Hopefully, this visit will strengthen the collaboration between the Department of Informatics Engineering and Southampton University, and positively impact the development of research and technology in Indonesia.
