The Department of Informatics Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), through its Intelligent Information Management Laboratory, held a guest lecture titled I²M Talk (Intelligent Information Management Talk), featuring two international academics: Prof. Sofiane Tahar from Concordia University, Canada, and Prof. Sang-Seok Lee from Tottori University, Japan.
In the guest lecture, both speakers presented the results and developments of research currently being conducted in their respective laboratories. Prof. Sofiane Tahar presented on the design and verification challenges of Cyber-Physical Systems, while Prof. Sang-Seok Lee presented on research related to the development of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW)-based viscosity sensors.
In addition to the presentations, the event also included a research discussion session involving ITS Informatics Engineering master’s and doctoral students. In this session, students presented their research topics under development and received input, methodological advice, and research development perspectives from the two visiting professors.
As part of the academic visit, the two speakers also met with the ITS Directorate of Global Partnerships (DKG) and the ITS Professorial Council. The meeting discussed opportunities to strengthen international cooperation, including research collaboration, academic exchanges, and the development of future joint programs.
Through this activity, the ITS Department of Informatics Engineering hopes to expand its global collaboration network, improve research quality, and encourage innovation through cross-institutional and cross-national collaboration.
