Doctoral Program

State of the art of Architecture and sensitivity to the environment remain the main issues of each area of expertise. In the 2001/2002 academic year, the Architecture Doctoral Program (S3) was opened. BPPS Scholarship assistance can be obtained from 2004/2005.


GOALS

The educational objectives of the Architecture Doctoral Program are to deepen the level of knowledge that has been obtained during education in the Master Program in order to have the ability to:

  1. Participate in the development of the field of architecture and keep up with the latest developments at home country and abroad;
  2. Formulate an approach to solve various problems by means of scientific reasoning;
  3. Improve professional services by means of research and development;
  4. Developing professional abilities in a broader spectrum by relating the fields of architectural science;

In order to achieve this goal, efforts should be made to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of architectural disciplines even though there is an opportunity to choose one particular field of expertise.


STUDY PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

In developing studies, the Department of Architecture collaborates with Univ. of Newcastle (UK), DPU Univ. of College London (UCL, UK), Univ. of Manchester (UK), Univ. of Melbourne (Australia), Univ. of Kyoto (Japan) and many more. This collaboration takes the form of guest lectures, joint research and other academic activities for the development of science and knowledge.


LEARNING PERIOD AND CREDIT EXPENSE

The total credit load for the Doctoral program is 40 credits, consisting of:

  • Main courses
  • Supporting courses
  • Research and dissertation writing

REQUIREMENTS

Have Master Degree from accredited universities or higher education institution with the fields of study: Architecture, Urban Planning, or related studies

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (scale 4.0)

ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCORE (TOEFL) REQUIREMENTS

To fulfill Academic Quality Assurance, the Department of Architecture hereby provides an English Language Score (TOEFL) Requirement Policy in the Selection of Prospective Students for the Doctoral Program in Architectural Science, Department of Architecture ITS, which is a minimum of 475

SELECTION

The requirements for admitting participants are based on:

  • Academic achievements during their past education degree
  • Pass the selection examination which consists of a written test and an interview
  • Availability

The selection examination includes:

  • Writing
  • Interview
  • Research and dissertation proposal and contact of the Professor in Architecture
