Research-based Architectural Education

The laboratory of ITS Architecture Department is facility that accommodates laboratory-based learning activities (lab-based education) and specific research. The laboratory is the spearhead of the development of architectural knowledge generated by various studies carried out by both lecturers and students. This knowledge is utilized for the benefit of learning which is elaborated in various courses, further development of research which is derived into research topics, final assignments, theses and dissertations, and community service activities. The ITS Department of Architecture has five (5) laboratories each focus on developing the fields of: architectural design, architectural history-theory-critic, architectural science and technology, architecture of housing and settlements, and urban design.
