The doctoral degree program in Mechanical Engineering is for the student wanting to develop the skills needed to create to create and discover new knowledge, direct and lead a research group, and otherwise serve as a leader in the process of discovery. The ability to function as a knowledge discovery leader is useful in industry, research labs, and academia

The doctoral degree student must successfully complete at least 42 credit hours (12 credit for courses and 30 credit for dissertation). A student in this program must pass the Qualifying Exam and required to have minimum 2 publication in indexed international journals. Students are able to specialize in a technical area of interest as follow:

  • Energy Conversion Engineering
  • Engineering Design and Manufacturing
