Education as the main institution in preparing human resources (HR) and is a determinant of the quality of human resources. So that the essence of the education process is basically sourced from the community and its output is returned to the community. Therefore, improving the quality of education must always refer to the needs and solutions to problems that are being faced by the community. Education is said to be effective if it is able to prepare graduates according to the interests of society. If at this time the community really hopes that graduates of an education level are ready to enter the workforce, then it should need arrangement and development to fulfill that desire. One alternative is through Vocational education programs.
Vocational education programs are aimed at preparing skilled labor (practical skills) who are ready to enter the workforce directly. Therefore, at ITS there is currently one Faculty where education is oriented to work skills in accordance with the development of applied science and technology and in accordance with the demands of employment needs, namely the Vocational Faculty. Where the Vocational Faculty provides more practical training than in other faculties in ITS.
The Department of Electrical Automation Engineering (DTEO), is one of the Departments of six Departments within the ITS Vocational Faculty. The 2018 DTEO curriculum provides more than 60 percent practice, and in it there are Internship courses in the Industry for approximately six months held in semester V. This course is an application of the knowledge gained during the lecture world and to acquire new knowledge. in order to find out and solve problems in the industrial world. In addition, it is also to provide an overview and explore the work environment, which is not in college.
Hopefully with the availability of quality human resources, making Indonesia a developed country.
