Marine Transportation Engineering Master Double Degree Program (S2)

The Master’s Double Degree Program (S2) in Maritime Transportation Engineering provides opportunities for graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree Program (S1) to pursue advanced studies at the Master’s level in the field of maritime transportation. Through this program, graduates are expected to be well prepared to meet the demands of the professional workforce.

The following are the Graduate Profiles of the Master’s Double Degree Program (S2) in Marine Transportation Engineering:

  1. A marine transportation engineering expert who is capable of applying engineering and managerial knowledge to plan and manage maritime transportation networks, ports, and maritime logistics;

  2. A policymaker in the marine transportation sector with comprehensive insights into marine transportation engineering from technological, economic, security, safety, and environmental sustainability perspectives;

  3. A professional or entrepreneur in the marine transportation field who is able to think and act independently or collaboratively in a logical, critical, systematic, and innovative manner;

  4. An individual with strong motivation for continuous self-development.

Curriculum Structure

Unlike other engineering programs that are more product-oriented, marine transportation engineering is more function- and demand-oriented. The functions that become the main focus of marine transportation engineering are derived from users’ needs in the maritime transportation process, both at the macro and micro levels.

Since the primary products associated with the field of marine transportation engineering are ships and ports, there is a strong interconnection between marine transportation engineering, naval architecture, and civil engineering.

The intersection between marine transportation engineering, naval architecture, and civil engineering lies mainly in the design aspects, as illustrated in the following figure:

The Body of Knowledge (BoK) of the Master’s Double Degree Program (S2) in Marine Transportation Engineering encompasses applied sciences developed from theories of naval architecture, ports, networks, and economics.
