Department of Business Statistics, DSB Berita – On Wednesday, September 20 2023, the Head of the Business Statistics Department Prof. Dr. Wahyu Wibowo, S.Si, M.Si was officially confirmed as ITS’s 163rd professor in the scientific field of Regression Modeling. The inauguration activity was held in the Research Center Building Auditorium, 11th floor of ITS, attended by approximately 300 invited guests.

Starting the entire sacred procession of professor inauguration, Prof. Dr. Wahyu Wibowo, S.Si, M.Si delivered his scientific oration regarding Semiparametric Spiline: Strategy for Increasing Regression Modeling Accuracy in the Evidence-Based Decision Making (EBDM) Framework. Prof. Dr. Wahyu Wibowo, S.Si, M.Si, Professor of the Department of Business Statistics, explained that this model can be a strategy to increase the accuracy of regression modeling, a method for understanding independent and dependent variables so that business decisions can be optimized. Prof. Dr. Wahyu Wibowo, S.Si, M.Si was inaugurated together with 6 other people, namely: Prof. Dr. Katherin Indriawati, ST, MT from the Department of Engineering Physics, Prof. Dr. Trihastuti Agustinah, ST. MT from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Dewi Hidayati, SSi. MSi from the ITS Biology Department, Prof. Dr. Tri Arief Sardjono, ST. MT from the ITS Biomedical Engineering Department, and Prof. Dr. Drs. Purhadi, MSc from the Department of Statistics.
At the end of the series of solemn processions, the Head of the ITS Professorial Council, Prof. Ir. Imam Robandi, MT expressed his pride in the number of ITS professors who currently number 168 people. Prof. Dr. Syafsir Akhlus, M.Sc, Chair of the ITS Academic Senate. “Hopefully our professors’ publications and productivity will increase,” concluded the ITS chemistry professor.
