Surabaya – The ITS Library held an orientation session for students participating in mandatory and thematic internships on Monday (July 13) at 1:00 p.m. WIB in the ITS Library’s Bibliotek Room. The session was attended by two students participating in the mandatory internship program and five students in the thematic internship program from Airlangga University (UNAIR), as well as one student in the thematic internship program from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS).
The orientation session was led directly by the Head of the ITS Library, Agus Santoso, S.Sos., M.Med.Kom. During the session, participants were introduced to the profile and services of the ITS Library and received an explanation of the internship procedures, group assignments, and placements in their respective work units.
Students in the thematic internship program will be placed in their chosen fields, with the majority opting for the Collection Management and Digital Repository units. Meanwhile, students in the mandatory internship program will undergo a rotation through various ITS Library services, from the first floor to the fifth floor, to gain a more comprehensive understanding of library operations.
Through this internship program, students are expected to be able to apply the theories they have learned during their studies to practical work in the library. In addition, they are also expected to gain experience in managing library collection data in accordance with their respective fields of study. During the internship, participants will not be limited to a single department but will also have the opportunity to become familiar with various services and perform tasks according to their respective placements.
