Surabaya, July 9, 2026 – The Library of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) hosted a benchmarking visit from the Library of Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) on Thursday (July 9). The visit, attended by seven UMM librarians, aimed to improve service quality and support the development of library resources through the sharing of experiences and best practices among university libraries.
The delegation was welcomed in the Library Room on the second floor of the ITS Library. The event began with opening remarks from the Head of the ITS Library, Agus Santoso, S.Sos., M.Med.Kom., who is commonly known as Agsan. During the event, Agsan outlined the various services, facilities, and innovations that the ITS Library has developed to support the needs of the academic community.
Following the presentation session, the event continued with a library tour that began on the 5th floor and proceeded down to the 1st floor. The library tour was highly interactive. As fellow librarians, both groups actively discussed topics ranging from service management to facility development at their respective institutions. On each floor, the groups exchanged experiences and shared best practices that could serve as inspiration for library development.
Through this benchmarking activity, it is hoped that an even closer relationship will be forged between the ITS Library and the UMM Library, while also opening up opportunities for collaboration in the development of library services, innovation, and management. This activity also serves as a forum for mutual learning and the exchange of ideas to create library services that are increasingly responsive to the needs of their users.
