Surabaya, June 9, 2026 – The Library of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) held a workshop titled “Learn From the Expert: Taylor & Francis—Publication, User Guide, and AI Policy” on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the ITS Library’s Creative Co-Working Space (CCWS). The event was attended by 75 ITS students, both in-person and online.

This workshop aims to support the improvement of the quality of students’ scientific publications and to provide an understanding of the academic publishing process and the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific writing and research.

The event was opened by the host, followed by the main session, which was led by a moderator from the ITS Library, Eva Mursidah, S.I.Pust., a literacy librarian at the ITS Library.

The first session was led by Prof. Drs. Suminar Pratapa, M.Sc., Ph.D., a lecturer in the Department of Physics at ITS, who discussed strategies for scientific publication as well as various key aspects of producing high-quality, competitive scientific work.

The second session featured Ardy Chandra, Sales Manager at Taylor & Francis Group, who introduced Taylor & Francis’ services and resources, ranging from platform usage guides and the publication process to policies regarding the use of AI in scientific publishing.

Throughout the session, participants showed great enthusiasm by actively asking a variety of questions, which were answered directly by the two speakers in a highly interactive manner.

To conclude the event, the organizing committee presented door prizes to students who actively participated in the Q&A session. This event is expected to enhance ITS students’ understanding of the scientific publication process while encouraging the wise and responsible use of technology in the academic world.
