Surabaya, November 6, 2025 – The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Library is once again a learning destination for Surabaya students. On November 4 and 6, 2025, a total of 293 female students from SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Surabaya participated in an outing class program at the ITS Library Building in two waves of visits. The first wave took place on November 4, 2025, with 158 female students, followed by the second wave on November 6, 2025, with 135 male students and 26 accompanying teachers. Both visits took place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. local time and were filled with enthusiasm

The students were warmly welcomed by the entire ITS Library team. Mr. Yusuf Hendra Dwi Kusuma, ST., M.M., Head of the Library Subdivision, expressed his deep appreciation for the selection of the ITS Library as the location for the outing class. “We greatly appreciate the trust placed in us by SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Surabaya for choosing the ITS Library as a place to broaden their students’ literacy horizons. It is an honor for us to be able to contribute to the education of the younger generation,” said Mr. Yusuf Hendra

The library tour was enthusiastically organized by ITS librarians. With extraordinary dedication, the librarian team guided students through each floor of the library, introducing them to various modern learning facilities, diverse physical and digital book collections, and the ITS library digitization system. The students were very enthusiastic about each explanation and actively asked questions about various topics related to literacy and libraries

“We librarians are very enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and fostering a love of reading among the younger generation. Seeing the enthusiasm of the students motivates us even more to continue providing the best service,” said Mrs. Sumarmi, one of the librarians involved in the activity.

Mrs. Lutfi, one of the accompanying teachers from SMP Muhammadiyah 14 Surabaya, appreciated the library tour program that had been organized. “Alhamdulillah, this visit was very beneficial for our students. They gained valuable experience seeing firsthand how a modern university library operates. The complete facilities and collections, as well as the friendly service and welcome from the ITS librarian team, have motivated the students to enjoy reading and learning even more. We hope this visit will inspire them to continue improving their literacy,” said Mrs. Lutfi enthusiastically.

This activity is expected to inspire students and provide them with new insights into the importance of literacy and the role of libraries as centers of learning. The ITS Library is committed to continuing to open itself as an educational facility not only for the ITS academic community, but also for the wider community, especially students from various levels of education.
