Surabaya — The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Library, in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), organized an event. “Sosialisasi Article Processing Charge (APC) dan Authorship Training” On Friday, October 10, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. WIB online via Zoom.

This activity is part of IEEE–ITS APC Program, A strategic initiative that provides subsidies for article publication costs for authors from the ITS academic community. This program aims to encourage an increase in Open Access (OA) publications in reputable international IEEE journals. Through this program, it is hoped that high-quality research results from ITS can reach a global audience and expand the dissemination of knowledge.

The event presents Alex Liu Yupeng (Manager Client Service Asia, IEEE) sas the main resource person, as well as Deden Ramdhani (Account Executive / IEEE Product Specialist) as moderator. In his presentation, Alex Liu discussed in depth the Article Processing Charge (APC) mechanism, the stages of publication, and tips for authors to increase the chances of their manuscripts being accepted by IEEE journals. In addition, the Authorship Training session also provided practical insights into the process of writing and publishing scientific articles, from manuscript preparation and journal selection to international publication ethics.

“This program not only helps ease the burden of publication costs, but also provides ITS researchers with better writing skills and publication strategies.,” said Deden Ramdhani at the opening of the event.

This is the third IEEE-ITS APC program, and the quota of tokens provided is 10 tokens.
