Muhammad Rakha Wirayuda (right of the above figure), one of the students of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) of ITS Business Management has a wealth of international experience while studying at ITS Business Management. Rakha has an internship experience at Mercedez-Benz, England, and carried out a Double degree program at Vives Belgium, and was even invited as a speaker at the International Staff Day Belgium to deliver internationalization material to students from all over the world.
Before starting his internship at Mercedes-Benz England, Rakha received material supplies from his supervising lecturer in England, Prof. Benny Tjahjono from Coventry University, who is also an Adjunct Professor at the ITS MB Department. He shared the concept of market leader theory, which according to Rakha is very relevant to analyzing the challenges in the famous automotive company.
The concept explains that companies cannot meet all market needs at once. Therefore, every company must have a competitive advantage that distinguishes it from competitors. Rakha outlines three main aspects of competitive advantage mentioned in the book. First, operational excellence, which allows companies to offer quality products or services at competitive prices. Second, product leadership, which focuses on innovation and brand image to dominate the market. Third, closeness to customers, which emphasizes understanding consumer needs and providing the best solutions for them.
