National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan, through its College of Engineering, invites partner universities to nominate one (1) student to participate in the Summer Camp 2026, which will be held in Taichung, Taiwan, from July 29 – August 12, 2026.

This two-week academic summer camp aims to strengthen international academic collaboration, enhance engineering education, and promote student exchange among partner institutions. The program combines laboratory-based research experiences, directed independent study, and cultural immersion, offering students a comprehensive international academic experience in Taiwan.

Program Overview

The Summer Camp 2026 at NCHU provides participating students with the opportunity to:

• Engage in directed independent study within selected research groups
• Explore Taiwan’s engineering technologies and research environment
• Participate in Chinese culture courses and cultural activities
• Build international academic networks with students from partner universities

Academic Activities

Participants will join one research group within the College of Engineering:

• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Materials Science & Engineering
• Precision Engineering
• Biomedical Engineering

At the end of the program, students will present the outcomes of their research and study activities

For each participant, the College of Engineering will provide:

• Accommodations
• Selected meals
• Cultural courses
• Organized visits

Scholarship Opportunity

NCHU will provide one (1) scholarship for a selected ITS student, covering the program fee, dormitory, and food expenses. However, the selected student must cover other costs, including round-trip airfare, visa, insurance, and personal expenses.

Eligibility

This program is open to ITS students who meet the following criteria:

• D4 & S1 students from batch 2023 & 2024 (Regular students only; IUP students are not eligible).
• S2 students from batch 2024 & 2025.

Required Documents

Interested ITS students must prepare and submit the following documents:

1. NCHU Summer Camp 2026 application form
2. Consent Letter
3. Official Academic Transcript (English version)
4. Valid English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL/IELTS/IBT minimum score: 477; Duolingo minimum score: 85)
   • EFL and screenshots from UPT Bahasa website are acceptable.
   • TEFL from Dirpendik is not acceptable.
5. Scanned Passport (valid for at least one year beyond July 31, 2025)
6. Motivation Letter (max. 2 pages, TNR 12, margin 3-3-3-3) – clearly state the preferred research lab.
7. Certificate of Enrollment

Application Procedure

• All documents must be compiled into one (1) .zip/.rar file.

• The interview session will be held on March 23, 2026.
