[Urgent] Sato Yo Scholarship for One Year 2026-2027 Student Exchange/Sandwich Program at Shibaura Institute of Technology

Dear ITS Students,

Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), Japan is offering the One Year Sandwich Program (Student Exchange) for the 2026/2027 academic year, running from Fall 2026 to Spring 2027, supported by the Sato Yo Scholarship.

Program & Scholarship Details

Tuition and Fees

• Tuition fee is waived.
• Students are responsible for:
  • Learning materials
  • Registration fee (JPY 30,000 per semester)
  • Dormitory fees
  • Living expenses in Japan
    (These may be covered using the scholarship.)

Scholarship Benefits

• Monthly allowance: JPY 150,000
• Lump-sum payment: JPY 100,000
• Round-trip flight ticket
• Transportation fee from the airport to accommodation upon arrival in Japan

Program Duration

• Participation in SIT’s course-taking Sandwich Program from:
  Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 (September 2026 – July 2027)

Eligibility

This program is exclusively open to ITS students:

• S1 batch 2023 and 2024
• S2 batch 2025

Additional requirements:

• Must comply with Japan Government travel requirements.
• Must complete special tasks required under the Sato Yo Scholarship (reports, joint seminars, gatherings, etc.).

Information for the regular SIT Student Exchange Program for Fall 2025/2026 will be provided in a separate announcement.

ITS credit transfer requirements:

• S1: Minimum 20 SKS per semester
• S2: Minimum 6 SKS per semester
  (1st semester = Fall, 2nd semester = Spring)

Application Requirements

Please prepare the following documents:

1. CV
   • Include full name, date of birth, phone number, and email.
2. Certificate of Enrollment (ITS Version)
3. Scholarship Certificate of Enrollment
4. Latest Academic Transcript (English)
   • Minimum GPA: 3.00 out of 4.00
5. Passport Scan (Information Page)
   • Valid for at least 1 year from Sept 2024
   • If you do not have a passport yet:
     Submit a signed statement (with signature of your advisor/department) agreeing to provide your passport scan by 1 April 2026.
6. Valid English Proficiency (CEFR B2 equivalent or higher)
   Accepted: TOEIC 785-940, IELTS 5.5-6.5, TOEFL iBT 72-94, TOEFL ITP Level 1 & 2 543-626, Cambridge English FCE 160-179, Cambridge English CAE 160-179, and Cambridge English (CPE) 162-179
