Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Semester Exchange Fall 2025

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is pleased to announce that applications for the Fall Semester Exchange Program (October 2025 – February 2026) are now open.

This program offers a tuition fee waiver. However, selected students are responsible for covering the following expenses:

• Round-trip flight ticket

• Visa and insurance fees

• Learning materials

• Facility fee

• Dormitory and living costs in Malaysia

Students must also check and comply with the latest Malaysian Government entry regulations.

• ITS Diploma/S1 students from Batch 2022 and 2023

• All ITS Master’s (S2) students (any batch)

ITS students must select courses from Semester 1 (Odd Semester) and transfer a minimum of 12 SKS.

Visa Information

All international students must apply for a Mobility Pass if studying in Malaysia for 3–12 months. This includes:

1. Applying for a Visa Approval Letter (VAL) through the EMGS STAR System: https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/

2. Once approved, students must apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) at the Malaysian Embassy.

UTM International will assist students in applying for the Mobility Pass upon arrival in Malaysia.

Important notes:

• Do not enter Malaysia using a tourist or entry visa.

• Purchase flight tickets only after receiving the VAL.

• For study duration under 3 months, ensure the visit pass covers the full study period.

Insurance Requirements

• For study duration under 3 months: students must purchase a valid medical/travel insurance from their home country that covers medical and hospitalization costs in Malaysia.

• For study duration of 3–12 months: students must purchase an insurance policy in Malaysia through EMGS during Mobility Pass application.

• Insurance must cover: personal accident, inpatient treatment, repatriation, and death.

Accommodation

• On-campus accommodation is guaranteed, subject to availability and room selection.

• Students may also rent off-campus housing at their own arrangement and cost.

Required Documents

Please prepare the following documents in PDF format:

1. Curriculum Vitae (CV)

2. Certificate of Enrollment

3. Official Academic Transcript (in English, minimum GPA: 3.0)

4. One Recommendation Letter from an academic advisor

5. Passport copy (valid at least until October 2025)

6. Valid English Proficiency Score (TOEFL/IELTS/IBT/EFL/TEFL UPBG; minimum 477)

   • Scores from TOEFL Prediction, Dirpendik EFL, or UPT Bahasa screenshots are not accepted

   • Only signature from Head of Department is needed

9. Passport photo with blue background

10. GCW Non-Degree Certificate (minimum C) or GCW Test Result (minimum 80)

    • S2 students may substitute with R2SEP certificate

11. Statement letter from parents (in Bahasa Indonesia), declaring full financial and mental support (submitted during the interview)
