INSA Rouen Normandie Semester Exchange Program Fall 2025

INSA Rouen Normandie is accepting applications for its Fall 2025 semester exchange program (September 2025 – January 2026). This program waives tuition fees, but students are responsible for learning materials, accommodation, living expenses, travel, and visa requirements.

Available Courses & Research Opportunities

Students can take courses in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th year. Courses from the 1st & 2nd year (Premier Cycle Ingénieur) are not available. English-taught courses are not always available year-round, so students should check the English course catalogue to determine which semester offers more suitable options. Research projects are available part-time or full-time.

Academic & Credit System

• Students earn 30 ECTS credits per semester
• Courses must be approved by both ITS & INSA Rouen Normandie

Estimated Living Costs (Per Month in Euros)

• Housing: €347 – €397 (on-campus)
• Meals at INSA restaurant: €3.30 per meal
• Local transportation: €19–€23
• Health & liability insurance: €15–€40
• Accommodation insurance: €20–€60 per year
• Visa validation tax: €50 (for non-EU students)

Accommodation Options

At the Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray / Madrillet Campus, on-campus housing is available at €347 – €397 per month. The Le Havre Campus (Civil Engineering Department) does not have on-campus residences, but assistance is provided through agreements with CROUS and Housing Associations.

Health & Civil Liability Insurance

Before arrival:

• EU students must have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
• Québec students must have the SE 401 Q 106 form
• Non-EU students must purchase health and accident insurance before arriving in France, valid until October 1st (Autumn Semester) or March 1st (Spring Semester)
• Students in the Welcome Program (Mid-August start) must have insurance covering them from Mid-August

Civil liability insurance is mandatory for university enrollment. It covers any damage caused to others during academic or daily activities.

Upon arrival:

• Non-EU students must register for the French Student Social Security (free of charge).

Welcome Program (Orientation Program)

The Welcome Program runs from mid-August to early September (two weeks before the semester starts). It includes French language courses, cultural activities, and administrative assistance. The fee is €80, and students receive 2 ECTS credits for an intensive French course (22.5 hours per week).

Who Can Apply?

Open to ITS undergraduate (S1) students from batch 2022 and graduate (S2) students from batch 2022 & 2023.

2. University transcript (English, GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0)
3. Passport copy (valid for at least 1 year)
4. English/French proficiency certificate (TOEFL PBT ≥ 477 / IELTS ≥ 6.0 / French B1). TOEFL Prediction is not accepted, except for IUP students with a department letter.
5. French as Foreign Language Form (FLE)
6. Two recommendation letters from an academic advisor
