The development of Industry 4.0 which utilizes Artificial Intelligence is one of the drivers of healthcare 4.0. This topic was discussed in an online webinar organized by Department of Informatics ITS by Prof. Mohamed Quafafou on August 24, 2022. Prof. Mohamed Quafafou is the team leader of Data Mining at Scale, Laboratoire d’Informatiqe & Systèmes – Aix-Marseille University, France. This webinar is moderated by Dr. Agus Budi Raharjo, S.Kom. M.Kom., a lecturer in Department of Informatics ITS and opened by the Head of Department of Informatics ITS, Dr.Eng. Chastine Fatichah, S.Kom., M.Kom. This activity was held online which was attended by more than 120 participants, both ITS academics and from other institutions.
The topic of AI for Health, mentioned by Prof. Quafafou, raised because of the biggest challenge in the future is the collaboration of humans and machines in healthcare. The development of healthcare in the world today is supported by two factors: technology and the number of doctors / health workers. This is because, e-Healthcare cannot run only with technology, but requires human resources for its application. E-pharmacy is predicted to be the most developed e-Health sector compared to other sectors such as e-Health apps and e-Health devices in Indonesia.
In this webinar, Prof. Quafafou mainly discussed about 1) introduction, 2) from computers to intelligent machines, 3) machine learning, artificial intelligence in healthcare, 4) applications of AI to health, and 5) challenges for AI in health. He explains each part of the presentation with a case study. After the presentation, participants are welcome to ask questions that are answered by the discussion method so that this webinar is interactive. Dr. Agus Budi Raharjo closed the webinar by expressing his gratitude to Prof. Quafafou and inviting more collaboration between institutions in the future.
