About Our Faculty

The Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS) is a leading faculty in ITS which was established as a combination of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTIK) and the Faculty of Electrical Technology (FTE) consisting of six departments that leading ten study programs for S1, more than 2500 students both at the S1, S2 level or S3. F-ELECTICS comes with a vision to become a referral faculty in education and research in electrical, electronics, and computing-related fields with an international reputation and contribution to humanity.

Digital Innovation KKN ABMAS Team from ITS Presents Smart Vertical Garden for Eco-School Program

Tuesday, November 25, 2025 The KKN ABMAS team from the Digital Innovation Study Program, Department of Information Systems, ELECTICS ITS has successfully introduced an innovative green technology solution at SDIT Al Uswah Surabaya. Under the supervision of Dr. Feby Artwodini Muqtadiroh, S.Kom., M.T., the students implemented an IoT-based Smart Vertical Garden an automated vertical garden system with real-time monitoring through a dedicated application. The idea for the Smart Vertical Garden emerged from SDIT Al Uswah’s need for a more efficient and sustainable greening system. As a school promoting the Eco-School concept, they required a solution that not only enhanced the environment but was also easy to maintain and could serve as a learning medium for students.

Maritime Defense Innovation in North Natuna Sea through DAHANA App

Thursday, September 4, 2025 The North Natuna Sea has once again become the center of Indonesia’s geopolitical attention. This region, which serves as a major international trade route, holds significant natural resource potential while also facing vulnerabilities due to unilateral claims from other nations. This situation demands a decision support system capable of providing rapid, accurate, and data-driven analysis. This is where the DAHANA App comes in as an innovation developed through close collaboration between the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) and the Naval Technology College (STTAL). The concept of DAHANA originated from the need for an analytical tool capable of comprehensively monitoring maritime dynamics. This project is led by Prof. Erma Suryani, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., as the head of the community service team and a lecturer in the Department of Information Systems.

Facing a Surge in Academic Pressure, ITS Computer Engineering Department Holds Mental Health Seminar

Thursday, November 20, 2025 Amid the growing concern for student well-being, the Computer Engineering Department of ITS held a Mental Health Seminar on October 9 at the Multifunction Room, Tower 2, 11th Floor. The event served as an educational space for students to better understand the importance of maintaining psychological health amid demanding academic activities. More than 150 students attended, filling the room and reflecting the high enthusiasm and need for mental health support within the department. This initiative was organized as a concrete step by the ITS Computer Engineering Department after identifying, in recent years, several cases of students experiencing declining academic performance, frequent absences, and personal issues related to mental pressure.

Bayucaraka ITS Secures Impressive Victories at KRTI 2025

Tuesday, November 18, 2025 The Bayucaraka ITS team once again achieved remarkable success at the Kontes Robot Terbang Indonesia (KRTI) 2025, held this year by Universitas Andalas (UNAND), Padang. The competition took place over four days, from 17 to 20 October 2025. Several students from the Faculty of Electrical Technology and Intelligent Informatics (ELECTICS) ITS contributed to the team’s performance, accompanied by Mr. Aldinata Rizky Revanda, S.Kom., M.Kom., a lecturer from the Department of Informatics Engineering ITS, who served as the supervising lecturer. KRTI 2025 opened on 17 October with presentations from the TD division and a series of initial flight tests. The following days continued with competitions across each division, from RP to VTOL. The RP final served as the closing competition before the inauguration on 20 October.

Electrical Engineering ELECTICS ITS Presents Automated Aerator System for Fish Farmers in Banyuwangi

Friday, November 14, 2025 Community service (ABMAS) activities have long been a tradition at the Instrumentation, Measurement, and Power System Identification Laboratory (LIPIST), Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Technology and Intelligent Informatics (ELECTICS), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). This year, the laboratory’s Community Service – Student Field Work (KKN ABMAS) team continues to innovate through the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automated aerator system to support catfish farmers in Wringinrejo Village, Banyuwangi. The project’s coordinator, Vita Lystianingrum B. P., S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D, explained that this initiative is a continuation of the laboratory assistants’ regular community service programs.

PYROGEN-X, Renewable Energy Solution from ITS ELECTICS Students Goes Global

Friday, November 7, 2025 Amidst global efforts towards clean energy transition, three ELECTICS ITS students proved that sustainable innovation can come from simple yet impactful ideas. They are Andi Bintang Adi Putra, I Ketut Rama Adi Widhiarta, and Akmal Zuhdi from the Department of Electrical Engineering, who are members of the GACOR team. The three recently represented ITS in the 2025 International Competition SICUS (Scientific Innovation and Creativity for Sustainable Future), a prestigious competition that brings together students from various countries to showcase creative solutions in the fields of science, technology, and sustainability. At this international event, the GACOR team presented an innovation called PYROGEN-X, a portable stove based on biomass gasification.
