The ITS Independent Selection Pathway (SMITS) is organized to provide broader opportunities for graduates of SMA/MA/SMK or equivalent schools with either national or international curricula to pursue undergraduate education at ITS. This pathway is also open to students holding a Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) or a Certificate of Financial Hardship (SKTM).
The SMITS pathway is conducted to select high-quality prospective students. It emphasizes strong academic abilities as the primary criterion and outstanding achievements as supporting criteria. Academic excellence is demonstrated through report cards, relevant subjects for the chosen study program, portfolios (specifically for applicants to design-related programs), UTBK scores, and/or SMITS test scores, depending on the specific SMITS pathway followed. Outstanding achievements, whether academic or non-academic, must be proven with valid certificates of achievement and/or official letters from relevant institutions.
