ITS Industrial Design Undergraduate Program

Vision

To become a reference for higher education in Industrial Design with international reputation through business synergy, development of science and technology for national independence.

Mission

  1. Organizing higher education based on technology, creativity and synergy with international quality curriculum, lecturers and learning methods.
  2. Equipping graduates with entrepreneurial knowledge based on design thinking.
  3. Growing excellence in the field of product design in small, medium and large-scale industries.
  4. Utilizing all available resources to participate in solving problems faced by society, industry, central government, and local government in implementing education, research, and community service activities.
  5. Educating graduates to have noble character, integrity, and maintain ethical and moral values.

Objective

The objectives of the ITS Industrial Design Department are:

  1. Produce graduates who are capable to think critically and scientifically, creative and innovative, communicative, collaborative, have ICT skills, self-learning improve, and can accept multi-cultural differences.
  2. Produce useful, innovative and adaptive research and design work to the times.
  3. Create mutual cooperation with industry, government and people from within and outside the country.
  4. Organizing education, research and community services in the field of Industrial Design and Visual Communication Design with excellence in technology, communication and management to deliver the needs of the society, government, community, and industry to embody graduates who are capable of critical and scientific thinking, creative and innovative, communicative, collaborative, have ICT skills, self-learning improve, and can accept multi-cultural differences.
  5. Organizing adequate, innovative, and sustainable design education.
  6. Produce useful, innovative and adaptive research and design work to the times.
  7. Create mutual cooperation with industry, government and people from within and outside the country.
  8. Maintain and develop ethical and moral values.

CPL-1

Able to demonstrate attitudes and character that reflect: devotion to the One Almighty God, ethics and integrity, noble moral values, sensitivity and concern for social and environmental issues, appreciation of cultural diversity and diversity, upholding the rule of law, prioritizing the interests of the nation and the wider society, through creativity and innovation, excellence, strong leadership, synergy, and other potential attributes to achieve maximum results.

CPL-2

Able to assess and utilize scientific knowledge and technology to apply it to the field of Product Design, and capable of making well-founded decisions based on individual work as well as group work in the form of final project reports or other learning activities with outcomes equivalent to a final project through logical, critical, systematic, and innovative thinking.

CPL-3

Able to self-manage learning and continuously develop oneself as a lifelong learner to compete at both national and international levels, to make a tangible contribution to problem-solving by implementing information and communication technology while also considering sustainability principles and understanding technology-based entrepreneurship.

CPL-4

Able to comprehend and apply knowledge of theoretical product design concepts, including fundamental design principles and aesthetics, material characteristics, function, user experience, ergonomics, design system engineering, technology, economic factors, environmental and socio-cultural factors, market and business aspects.

CPL-5

Able to understand and apply knowledge, insights, and expertise related to product design, including design history, design overview, design systems, behavior and lifestyle, environmental issues, technological developments, UI-UX design, socio-cultural aspects, economics and business, entrepreneurship, ethical codes, and intellectual property rights (IPR).

CPL-6

Able to design products and their systems, considering all influencing aspects, including fundamental design principles and aesthetics, material characteristics, function, user experience, ergonomics, design system engineering, technology, economic, environmental, socio-cultural, and market and business aspects.

CPL-7

Able to research issues, formulate, and publish design needs and solutions for the present or the future using relevant design and research methodologies.

CPL-8

Able and skilled in using design process tools, including manual and digital equipment, following technological advancements and the evolution of the times.

CPL-9

Able to present design concept ideas through verbal communication, visual media, and prototypes (models/mock-ups/prototypes) using various relevant technologies.
