Latar Belakang

 

Die-cast model customizers in carrying out custom die-cast model activities require workstation that can support their work. These user activities range from making concepts to custom die-cast model processes which include modelling and painting processes. From the data obtained about existing products used by users, both through primary data and secondary data, most types of workstation used are work desks that are set-up to support user activities. There are several problems found in existing products that are used by users, including the lack of flexibility to use some custom die-cast model activities, the equipment used by users look less organized, and less suitable for use in limited spaces. From some of these problems, it is necessary to design specific workstation that suit user needs. The purpose of this project is to raise this topic because in terms of urgency, users who work as die-cast model customizers need more workstations to be more effective and productive in carrying out their work. In addition, another problem is that the existing dimensions of the product used by users are not suitable for use in confined spaces. From some of these problems, then determine the design methodology related to flow and design techniques. The data search methods used in this study were field observations, interviews, and questionnaires to related users and experts. The next stage is to process these data by conducting several related studies and analyses. Furthermore, from the analysis process that has been carried out to produce the design concepts. The design concepts chosen in this project are multifunction, compact, and organized. The concept of multifunction means that the product can be used for several types of user work, the concept of compact means that the dimensions of the product are optimal for use in limited space, and the concept of organized means that the product configuration is in accordance with user’s activities and the equipment they use.
