Doctoral Degree

The state of the art of Architecture and sensitivity to the environment remain the main topics of each area of expertise. In the 2001/2002 academic year, the Architecture Doctoral Program (S3) was opened. BPPS scholarship assistance can be obtained from 2004/2005.

 

GOALS


The educational objectives of the Architecture Postgraduate Program are to increase the level of mastery of knowledge that has been obtained during education in the Undergraduate program in order to have the ability to:

  1. Participate in the development of the field of architecture and keep up with the latest developments at home and abroad.
  2. Formulate an approach to solving various problems by means of scientific reasoning
  3. Improve professional services by means of research and development
  4. Developing professional abilities in a broader spectrum by relating the field of architectural science

In order to achieve this goal, efforts should be made to maintain a comprehensive mastery of the knowledge of architectural disciplines even though there is an opportunity to choose one particular field of expertise.

STUDY PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT


In the development of study program, the Architecture Department collaborates with The Univ. of Newcastle (UK), DPU Univ. of College London (UCL, UK), The Univ. of Manchester (UK), The Univ. of Melbourne (Australia) and The Univ. of Kyoto (Japan). This collaboration takes the form of guest lectures, joint research and other academic activities for the development of science.

LEARNING PERIOD AND CREDIT EXPENSE


The total credit load for the Doctoral program is 40 credits, consisting of:

  • Main courses
  • Supporting courses
  • Research and thesis writing

REQUIREMENTS


Graduated from Masters Degree from University or Private Higher Education (certified) with the fields of study: Architecture, Urban-planning, and other related studies.

Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Take the new student admission selection examination.

SELECTION


The requirements for admitting participants are based on:

  • Academic achievements during their undergraduate education
  • Passed the selection exam which consists of a written test and an interview
  • Availability

The selection exam includes:

  • Writing
  • Interview
  • Dissertation proposal and contact the Professor in Architecture Department
