Department of Automation Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Vocational Studies, ITS — Students from the Department of Automation Electrical Engineering (DTEO), Faculty of Vocational Studies at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), have successfully achieved proud accomplishments in the 2025 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) held at Andalas University, Padang. Through integrated hard work and innovation, the DTEO team helped ITS secure 3 Division Championships at KRTI 2025 in this prestigious national event.

KRTI 2025, organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), serves as a platform for the development of aerospace research and technology for Indonesian students. In the competition, the DTEO team demonstrated its superior role in three main categories: Racing Plane, Technology Development, and Low Endurance Low Altitude (LELA).

In the Racing Plane category, Ahmadin Nazwa Aryanta (2040241101) successfully secured 1st Place thanks to his design of a high-speed aircraft with a precise control system. This aircraft was designed to achieve maximum performance through a combination of aerodynamic design and responsive automatic control. Ahmadin’s success is proof of the application of efficient automation principles in the modern aerospace world.

Meanwhile, the Technology Development category became the stage of proof for the team consisting of Muhammad Ken Fajri Azka Arafah (2040231012), Naufal Nasywaan Ariadne Thomas (2040231034), and Mukhammad Aufa Alauddin (2040241013). This team managed to win 2nd Place through their innovation of a flight system based on adaptive research. This innovation focused on efficiency, durability, and the control system’s ability to adapt to various environmental conditions during flight.

No less proud, Azarine Nabila Zahra (2040241058) successfully achieved 3rd Place in the Low Endurance Low Altitude (LELA) category through her design of a lightweight aircraft with high endurance and optimal energy efficiency. This innovation was designed to support short-range observation and aerial mapping missions with superior flight stability.

Responding to these achievements, Azarine expressed her gratitude for the valuable experience during the competition. “I am very grateful for this extraordinary experience. Every process, challenge, and moment of togetherness has become an invaluable and unforgettable memory,” she said.

This success was made possible by the support of supervising lecturers and laboratory facilities that support the exploration of automation technology and control systems. The Department of Automation Electrical Engineering is committed to continuously supporting student innovation in the fields of aerial robotics and intelligent automation systems, in line with the vision of the ITS Faculty of Vocational Studies to produce superior vocational graduates who are adaptive to the development of industry based on applied technology.
