IMPROVING DTEO STUDENTS’ COMPETENCE THROUGH COMPETENCE CERTIFICATION

The Department of Electrical Automation Engineering (DTEO) collaborates with the East Java Provincial Communication and Informatics Agency (Kominfo) in organizing a competency certification program. As part of the national Vocational School Graduate Academy (VSGA) Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) 2025 program, DTEO is trusted to hold two important certification schemes, namely Junior Mobile Programmer (JMP) and Junior Web Developer (JWD) as a form of DTEO’s commitment to equipping students with skills relevant to the industry.

This activity was successfully implemented on July 2-3, 2025 in the DTEO environment. This program involved students from two batches with different focuses. A total of 66 students from the 2023 batch participated in the Junior Mobile Programmer (JMP) scheme, where the training material was designed as a reinforcement and practical application of the DCS and SCADA courses. Meanwhile, 34 students from the 2024 batch participated in the Junior Web Developer (JWD) scheme, which is a direct application of the Algorithm and Programming course. The entire series of certification tests based on the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) were attended by DTEO students completely free of charge. Later, participants who are declared to have passed the minimum qualifications will receive a Competency Certificate from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

The Department of Electrical Automation Engineering would like to thank the East Java Ministry of Communication and Information and all parties who have provided this extraordinary opportunity to students of the Department of Electrical Automation Engineering. This program strongly supports DTEO’s vision to produce graduates who are not only academically superior, but also competent and have high competitiveness as evidenced by national certification. Hopefully this provision will be a solid foundation for them to work in the future.
