SURABAYA (November 6, 2025)– The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Library has reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner in the academic ecosystem by facilitating a series of Information Literacy Classes. This activity is specifically organized for students of the Regular Master’s Program (S2) and Environmental Management/PJJ from the Department of Environmental Engineering, as an integral part of curricular support for the Research Methodology course, as well as the Digital Literacy, AI, and Research Ethics courses.
This series of activities will be carried out intensively throughout October 2025, including offline and online sessions to ensure flexibility and accessibility for all students.
The material presented was designed to address research challenges in the digital age. The activity agenda was coordinated for three groups of students with specific material focuses:
This initiative is a concrete manifestation of the library’s commitment to not only serve as a collection provider, but also as an active facilitator in improving the information and digital literacy of the academic community.
This collaboration received positive responses and appreciation from both lecturers and participating students. Ervin Nurhayati, Ph.D., representing the Department of Environmental Engineering, expressed her response:
“Thank you very much, the information is very interesting. It turns out that the library’s innovations are extraordinary!”
Qualitative feedback from participating students also showed the high relevance and benefits of the program. Based on the summary data, there were various constructive responses that highlighted the effectiveness of the material delivery and its practical usefulness: Nur Azizzah Riswanto, a graduate student in Environmental Engineering, responded:
“The material provided was very informative and useful in supporting the preparation of theses. It is hoped that activities like this will be held more often.”
The success of this program indicates the significance of synergy between the library and academic departments. The ITS library remains committed to developing similar programs, ensuring that the entire ITS academic community is equipped with the necessary skills to contribute to the development of science and technology.
