Surabaya – Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the ITS Library once again held an In-House Training on Optimizing the Use of AI for Literature Search and Research for its librarians. This activity aims to introduce AI to ITS librarians and it is hoped that they can maximize its use for the effectiveness of their work, both for research and for creative work such as poster making.

The ITS Library entrusted Ir. Reza Aulia Akbar, S.T., M.T., MBA, a lecturer at the ITS Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, as well as the Founder of Science Hunter Indonesia (SHI), to share his knowledge about AI with ITS librarians. The In-House AI Training, which took place in the ITS Library’s Internet Room, was attended by approximately 20 active librarians.

This in-house training was opened by the Head of the ITS Library, Agus Santoso, S.Sos., M.Med.Kom, and immediately followed by a presentation of the material by Reza. In his presentation, Reza introduced several genAI, such as HeyGenAI, Whisk AI, Handbook Prompt AI, NotebookLM, Ideogram AI, Reve.Art, Mermaid Chart, ChatPDF AI, Powerdrill AI, Presentation AI, and Gamma AI. He also invited participants to practice using NotebookLM, ChatGPT, Reve.Art, and ChatPDF

Reza explained the advantages of NotebookLM, namely that a PDF file can be converted into a podcast or audio summary, video summary, PowerPoint presentation, infographic, mind map, and data table. He demonstrated how to create a podcast from a PDF file, which immediately drew admiration from the participants because the podcast from NotebookLM sounded very natural.

The In-House Training was interactive and practical, prompting one participant to state that their level of trust in ChatGPT was around 60-70%. Reza then added that he could increase the participant’s confidence in ChatGPT to around 80-90% by instructing ChatGPT “correctly.” This means that the prompt must be written correctly and coherently so that ChatGPT clearly understands the user’s intentions

One interesting thing Reza shared was that he found a way to ensure that ChatGPT had truly understood the user’s request, namely by asking the question, “Is there anything you want to ask?” This method was immediately put into practice by the participants, and it proved that ChatGPT asked questions that the participants had missed when composing the prompt.

Before ending his session, Reza invited participants to create images using Reve.Art. “AI will continue to evolve, but humans are the best decision makers and cannot be replaced,” said Reza in the last slide of his presentation as he closed Wednesday’s InHouse Training.
