Surabaya, December 2, 2025 – The Department of Electrical Automation Engineering (DTEO), Vocational Faculty of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) is once again holding an international academic event. Through the 31st series of DTEO’s Expert Lecture Series on Industrial Automation and Global Experience, the department invites students to explore the integration of artificial intelligence technology in scientific writing.
The online event, held via Zoom on Tuesday (2/12) afternoon, raised a topic that is highly relevant to the needs of modern academics, namely “Academic Writing by AI”.
Synergy of E-Resources and AI
The three-hour event, which ran from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. WIB, featured information literacy expert Eva Mursidah, S.I.Pust. As a Digital Information Literacy Librarian from ITS Sukolilo Campus, Eva provided in-depth insights into the new landscape of academic writing.
In her presentation, Eva emphasized that the transformation of scientific writing cannot be separated from two key elements: the utilization of electronic resources (e-resources) owned by ITS and the ethical use of AI.
“The main objective of this session is to discover how the combination of ITS e-resources and ethical AI practices can transform the efficiency of our research,” explained the material presented in the session.
Building Innovation Leadership
This guest lecture is not just a technical tutorial. Furthermore, the 31st Expert Lecture Series is designed to broaden vocational students’ perspectives on industrial automation and innovation leadership. By understanding how AI works in academic writing, students are expected to be able to lead change and increase research productivity without compromising scientific integrity.
The enthusiasm of the participants was evident in the interactive discussions that took place throughout the event, indicating the high level of interest among vocational students in adopting the latest technology to support their studies. (onemoreITS)
