Strengthening Industry Synergy, Department of Mathematics ITS and MPM Group Hold FGD to Discuss Joint Research and Curriculum Alignment

SURABAYA – The Department of Mathematics at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) continues to reinforce its strategic partnerships with the corporate sector. On Tuesday (13/10/2026), the Department of Mathematics ITS hosted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk (MPM Group), a leading automotive and consumer services company in Indonesia.

This meeting marks a crucial step in bridging academic expertise with modern industry needs. A wide range of collaborative initiatives was explored during the FGD, including joint research projects, guest lectures by industry practitioners, professional training programs, industry-driven final project research, as well as practical work (KP) and internship opportunities for students.

Beyond program collaborations, a central highlight of the discussion was the evaluation and alignment of the Department of Mathematics ITS curriculum with current industry competencies and demands. Insights from MPM Group practitioners serve as valuable strategic input to ensure that Mathematics ITS graduates possess strong quantitative foundations alongside market-ready skills tailored for modern business environments.
